About the BC Snowmobile Federation
Since its founding in 1965, the BC Snowmobile Federation (BCSF) has operated as a provincial not-for-profit, representing the collective interests of snowmobilers throughout British Columbia. Overseen by a member-elected Board of Directors, the BCSF has evolved from its origins with a few racing enthusiasts to an extensive network comprising almost 60 volunteer-led clubs and serving approximately 44,000 snowmobile enthusiasts.

If you have not already done so, you must register your snowmobile with ICBC. For certain uses, you are required to carry a minimum of $200,000 in third-party liability insurance. Liability insurance is available through ICBC.
ICBC snowmobile liability insurance is limited to:
- Travel directly across a plowed forest service road at traffic light, stop sign or other controlled crossing.
- Loading or unloading from another vehicle in a parking lot.
- Travel along the highway within limits set out in a police-issued operation permit.
