AFN and Tribal First: A new era of excellence.
In 2019, AFN Insurance Brokers announced a partnership with Tribal First, one of the largest and most established providers of risk and insurance solutions to Indigenous communities and tribal nations in North America. In addition to bringing together two like-minded partners, this powerful strategic alliance provides access to resources, relationships, and ideas that will further solidify AFN’s position as the preeminent insurance partner for Indigenous communities and organizations.
A program designed for Indigenous needs.
Specially created for Indigenous communities and organizations, the AFN Insurance Program can include, but not limited to the following.

This provides coverage for chiefs, councils and administrators who are personally sued for wrongdoing in their capacity as public officials, covering defence costs and any judgments that may result.
Employment Practices Liability
This protects Indigenous organizations against allegations and lawsuits by employees.
Legal Expense Coverage Extension
This covers legal costs in certain legal matters and within certain limits. It can be purchased separately or as an extension of other types of insurance.
Blanket Builders’ Risk Coverage
This provides coverage against loss or damage to new and existing physical property while under construction.
Cyber Liability
This coverage can help your organization recover from a cyberattack or data breach by covering costs related to system and network recovery, notification expenses, extortion, fines, reputational harm, business interruption and lawsuits.
Broad Form Commercial & Residential Property Coverage
This coverage protects physical assets (on and off reserve) against damage from fire, theft, vandalism and many other hazards. Protected property includes buildings, machinery, inventory and more. Coverage is available for community assets as well as privately owned band-member homes.
