Helpful tips from our advisors.

We’re here to help you explore all your options when it comes to equine insurance.

“Be diligent about having a bill of sale when you buy or sell a horse. Make sure to include the responsibilities of the buyer and seller and any details if payments are offered in case of injury or death during the sale process.

– Charity Tetrault, Client Advisor l New Brunswick

“Equine documents and the applications are valid for 30 days, please keep this in mind when you book in with your vet and coach for the documents they may need to complete to accompany your application.”

– Talyse MacDonald l Salmon Arm, BC

“For equine business owners, a healthy risk management practice is to sit down annually with your clients and review waivers, farrier, veterinary requirements, lesson and boarding contracts. Just like spring cleaning, this will help to protect you and your clients.”

– Shannon Henderson l Aurora, ON

“Most insurance companies cannot offer new policies or increase coverage if there is a wildfire within 50 kilometers of your property. Is a good idea to place insurance early and renew prior to expiry to avoid this problem.”

– Karrie Wiebe l Kelowna, BC
