Answering your most common questions.
How much will my health and dental plan cost me?
Depending on the plan you choose, your monthly premium may vary. Get in touch with your advisor to learn more about your plan.
Can I be denied coverage?
You will always be offered coverage for one of these plans as long as you are covered by provincial healthcare, even with a pre-existing condition.
I’m turning 65, do I need to buy prescription drug coverage?
It depends. Certain provinces provide drug coverage beginning at age 65, but these initiatives may be limited by a drug formulary that excludes prescription drugs that you now use or may need to take. Because private health insurance often covers twice as much for prescription medicines as most government coverage, plans like Canada Life’s Freedom to Choose health and dental insurance might be helpful for you.
What if I don’t need extra coverage?
You can still use the plans to help cover the cost of other health needs as you get older, such as home health care, mobility devices and hearing aids.
