The Touring Package – For Motorcycles on the Move!

The temperature may still be dropping below zero at night, but it’s starting to feel like spring, and here at Acera Insurance, spring is known as motorcycle season.

As you bring your bikes out of storage, and get ready to get riding, we wanted to remind you of our optional Touring Package, for anyone riding out of town this motorcycle season.

What is a touring package?

The Acera Insurance Touring Package is a group of coverages designed to protect you while you are riding your motorcycle outside of your city of residence.

What does it cover?

The Touring Package includes up to:

  • $1,000 additional living expenses (e.g. hotel costs, if you have to delay your trip while your bike is repaired)
  • $3,000 to return your bike to your city of residence
  • $1,500 travel expenses for you to return home
  • $200 emergency roadside assistance (e.g. towing)
  • $500 replacement vehicle expenses for a rented or borrowed automobile (to make sure you can still get around on your trip)

These coverages are available to you if your motorcycle is damaged in an accident while you are travelling. And, most importantly, if you are medically unable to ride while you are travelling – whether you are injured in an accident or otherwise, or you develop an illness while travelling – you have access to these benefits as well. (Tip: If you are leaving your home province, purchase travel medical insurance before you go to cover what the Touring Package does not: emergency medical bills.)

How much does it cost?

The Touring Package costs $75 per year, which is about $12.50 a month in a six-month riding season.

Who can buy it?

Anyone who qualifies for our private motorcycle insurance program can add the Touring Package to their policy.

We recommend anyone who rides their motorcycle outside of their home city purchase this coverage package before departing.
