Acera Insurance smashes Variety Month fundraising goal

Team raises more than $24,300 for Variety – the Children’s Charity of BC

BURNABY, April 2, 2024 — During a month-long fundraising campaign in February, Acera Insurance employees across British Columbia and the Yukon raised more than $24,300 for Variety — the Children’s Charity of BC.

Acera Insurance has proudly supported Variety BC for several years, inspired by the charity’s commitment to transforming the lives of children with disabilities and complex heath care needs.

“One of our core values at Acera Insurance is to ‘Put People First’ and I couldn’t be prouder of how we rallied in February, smashing our fundraising goal of $15,000 in support of children and their families across British Columbia,” says Erika Jarvis, Community Engagement & Events Specialist, Acera Insurance.

“We are dedicated to supporting kids of all abilities along their unique journeys, ensuring they have access to the medical care and services they need thanks to the fantastic work of Variety BC.”

Acera Insurance employees from 14 offices across mainland British Columbia and the Yukon eagerly hosted and participated in a variety of fundraising initiatives throughout February, including bake sales, 50/50 draws, raffles, bottle drives and much more.

In addition to our fundraising efforts — which our friends at Northbridge Insurance generously contributed to — Acera Insurance again sponsored the Variety Show of Hearts Telethon, which took place on Feb. 25, 2024.

“On behalf of the entire team at Variety BC, I want to thank each and every one of you who participated in Acera Insurance’s fundraising campaign, raising a staggering $24,300 — what a remarkable achievement,” says Philiip Reilly, Director of Philanthropy at Variety.

“Your efforts, alongside more than 8,500 fellow British Columbians, helped our 58th annual Show of Hearts Telethon in partnership with Global BC raise a total of $2.5 million. This amount ensures we can provide relief to 890 children and their families. Thank you for your generosity and for making such a positive impact on the lives of so many children across BC.”
