Crafter’sChoice is an exclusive insurance program, created by Acera Insurance (formerly CapriCMW), in partnership with Northbridge Insurance, to meet the unique needs of craft brewers and distillers in BC, and provide comprehensive and flexible policies.

In addition to coverages found in typical commercial insurance policies, Crafter’sChoice includes these additional coverages:

Spoilage

Coverage for spoilage due to refrigeration breakdown while in transit or in storage, for up to 180 days, including connections and pipes.

Contamination and infestation

Coverage for loss of product due to alteration (e.g. malicious tampering), or if product is determined unfit for consumption by a regulatory body.

Public relations expense

Coverage for expenses incurred (e.g. advertising and public relations consultants) resulting from a negative incident.

Business interruption

Coverage for loss of profits due to disruption of premises utilities (e.g. heat, power, gas, water, or communications supply).

Brewmaster and Key Personnel Replacement

Coverages for expenses resulting from the need to replace key personnel due to death or permanent disability.

Breach of Contract

Coverage for fines, damages or penalties associated with a Breach of Contract. Bad batch Coverage for loss of, or damage to product while being worked upon (by you).
