The key coverages your industry needs.

We understand that estheticians in the beauty care industry have unique needs and can tailor our policies accordingly.

General Liability Insurance for Cosmetologists and Estheticians

CGL insurance offers estheticians protection if a third-party is injured while on your premises or accidentally has their property damaged due to your services or operation. For example, this is designed to defend you if you are sued for negligence after a customer slips and falls in your spa.

Professional Liability Insurance for Estheticians and Cosmetologists

E&O insurance offers estheticians protection against lawsuits alleging your advice or professional service caused injury or loss to a customer. For example, this is designed to defend you if a customer has an allergic reaction or is burned by a product used on their body.

Business Interruption

Covers lost profit and pays for necessary ongoing expenses if your esthetics business is interrupted or closed due to a property damage claim. If a powerful storm leaves your esthetics spa heavily damaged and closed for two months, your insurance coverage ensures you’re reimbursed for lost profits and helps cover fixed expenses that don’t pause—like your salary and loan repayments—even while your business doors are closed.

Contents

Includes replacement cost coverage for tools, equipment and stock owned by your business while it is on the premises of your business, plus any renovations or leasehold improvements you are responsible for. With comprehensive multi-peril coverage, your policy safeguards you from a variety of common property risks—like fire, theft, vandalism, and sewer backup, to name just a few.

Equipment Breakdown

Equipment breakdown insurance is designed to safeguard vital systems like your electrical panel, air conditioner, and wiring, this coverage protects against damage from power surges, brownouts, and mechanical failure. It also helps replace lost profits and cover critical expenses—like your wages—if an equipment breakdown causes a temporary closure. It’s a common requirement in many commercial leases.

Proof of Loss Preparation Costs and Professional Fees

These two benefits help to pay for expenses incurred for you to establish the amount of your loss after a claim and to prepare the Proof of Loss form that you’re required to submit before a claim can be paid. For example – your business is shut down for a month to clean up after the sewer backs up into your spa after a storm. You will likely need to hire an accountant to establish how much profit was lost while you are closed before you can be reimbursed by the insurance company.

We work with top aesthetic insurance companies to find the best beauty business coverage for you.

Top factors which determine the cost of esthetician insurance

Esthetician insurance typically includes a few specific types of insurance coverage. In it’s simplest form, this may include basic types of liability insurance. In it’s most complex form, esthetician insurance can include a range of products, such as commercial general liability, professional liability, property coverage, business interruption and more.

The price you can expect to pay for your esthetician insurance is based on the type of coverage you require, in addition to factors related to the services you provide. Here is a breakdown of the factors which have the greatest impact on your esthetician insurance premiums.

  1. Type of services offered: Advanced treatments, such as chemical peels, microneedling or laser treatments, can carry a higher risk and could cost more to insure.
  2. Coverage selections: Adding coverages such as product liability, equipment coverage and business interruption can be vital to your practice, but could increase your premium with most providers.
  3. Coverage limits: For increased protection per incident, you can opt for higher limits, but you will pay more for this greater level of coverage.
  4. Work environment: Working in a different types of spas or clinics may cost more due to the complexity of services. Running your own business requires a broader range of coverage.
  5. Number of employees: Solo estheticians will pay less than a business needing to insure multiple practitioners of different skills and levels of experience.
  6. Claims history: If you have had past claims, you should expect to pay higher premiums.
  7. Education and experience: Your educational background and the number of years you have been practicing can influence your insurance rates. If you are new to the industry you may expect to pay more.
